TechnoSport Expands Retail Presence with Chennai Launch, Targets 50 Outlets by Year-End

Tirupur-based Activewear brand TechnoSport has unveiled its latest Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) in Chennai, strengthening its retail footprint as part of a broader expansion strategy. With this new outlet its fourth in Tamil Nadu following Tirupur, Coimbatore, and Salem the company now operates 15 EBOs across India and aims to touch 50 by the end of the calendar year.

The Chennai store is strategically located near a popular beach, enhancing visibility and branding. Puspen Maity, Chief Executive Officer at TechnoSport, views the city as a key market due to its young demographic and vibrant culture. The company plans to open 10–15 additional outlets across Tamil Nadu in the coming years, with cities like Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur on the roadmap.

Financially, TechnoSport expects to reach a revenue milestone of around 600 crore this fiscal, with projected annual growth of 40–50 per cent. The company, which raised 175 crore from A91 Partners last year, intends to fund its current expansion purely through internal accruals, without immediate plans for further fundraising.

TechnoSport continues to focus heavily on its B2B distribution model, which accounts for nearly 75–80 per cent of its total business, catering to around 7,000 small and medium retailers. Online channels contribute 10–12 per cent, while its growing EBO network supports the remainder.

According to Maity, pricing remains the brand’s biggest differentiator in the competitive activewear segment. Positioned below premium international brands, TechnoSport offers high-quality products at price points that resonate with Indian consumers.

On the global front, the company is scaling up its presence beyond partner-led sales in the GCC and South Africa. Plans are underway to establish direct operations with in-market teams, expected to roll out in the next few quarters.
